Library Talk: Experimental Film
Do you think experimental films are exciting? Or boring and hard to follow? Experimental film pushes the boundaries of movie-making. These unconventional films don’t follow the rules of typical cinema, leaving audiences feeling an array of emotions. Find out more what defines experimental film, and how this art form can inspire a new way of thinking.
Kristin Sztyk is a filmmaker based in Rensselaerville, New York. She received her MA in Media and Documentary Film from The New School, and her documentary shorts have been shown at DOCNYC & Truth Be Told film festivals. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Millay Colony and Mount Tremper Arts.

Ageless Grace Chair Exercise Class with Karren Haseley

Ageless Grace is a revolutionary brain fitness program taught in 50 states and more than 30 countries. Because Ageless Grace is performed in a chair to engage the brain, almost anyone can participate. These exercises, based on everyday movements that are natural and organic, focus on the healthy longevity of the body and brain. AND it's fun! Karen Haseley has been a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for 28 years and has worked with individuals of all ages. She has been a certified Ageless Grace Educator since 2013.

Poet Tom Corrado will discuss "on making a poem" by reading and talking about poems by John Ashbery, Louise Gluck, Frank O'Hara, & Mary Oliver. Authors Chin-Sun Lee and Sara Lippmann discuss their latest novels. Both books are set in the Catskills, and explore the seemingly vast differences in many characters' lives and how they can become unexpectedly intertwined.

Claire North will return to host local poets and musicians as neighbors and friends listen to their favorite -- and often original - works of poetry and song.
