EARTH DAY 2025

Picture

Earth Day’s 2025 theme is OUR POWER, OUR PLANET, calling for everyone to unite around renewable energy so we can triple clean electricity by 2030.

How can you help? Join Earth Action Day by educating, advocating, and mobilizing your communities. Here you’ll also find resources (organizing tools, quizzes and more) to help you take action this Earth Day, April 22nd, and every day.

WHAT IS EARTH DAY?

The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970, when Gaylord Nelson, a United States senator from Wisconsin, organized a national demonstration to raise awareness about environmental issues. Rallies took place across the country and, by the end of the year, the U.S. government had created the Environmental Protection Agency. By 1990, Earth Day was an event celebrated by more than 140 countries around the globe!
