Celebrate Poetry with the Rensselaerville Library! Poetry Month comes early this year at the Rensselaerville Library!

The Rensselaerville Library has a very special guest on
Friday, March 5th, 2010 at 6:30PM

RANDALL HORTON will be reading from his collective works. His books include: “The Lingua Franca of Ninth Street” and “The Definition of Place.” Both will be available for purchase and there will be time for questions & answers, and a book signing by the Author.

Randall HortonMore about the author: Randall Horton, originally from Birmingham, Alabama, resides in New Haven, CT and is a former recipient of the Gwendolyn Brooks Poetry Prize. He is the author of the poetry collections The Lingua Franca of Ninth Street, and The Definition of Place, both from Main Street Rag. Randall is the current editor of Reverie: Midwest African American Literature and co-editor of Fingernails Across the Chalkboard Poetry and Prose on HIV/AIDs from the Black Diaspora (Third World Press, 2007). He is also the editor of four children anthologies. He received his undergraduate education at both Howard University and The University of the District of Columbia (B.A. English). He has a MFA in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Poetry from Chicago State University and a PhD in Creative Writing from SUNY Albany. Randall is also a Cave Canem fellow. Most recently his poems, fiction and nonfiction appear in the following anthologies and journals: Motif: Writing by Ear, Mosaic, Black Renaissance, Crab Orchard Review and The Red Clay Review.
